Hmm..I'm only starting to give what I think. I'm not that cofident either but maybe it will mean something.

I like the idea of shot one. My only problem is I my eye keeps coming back to the white and big blurry jenga on the left. Maybe if those two piece could of been closer together... besides that I love the use of b&w.

I can't really say much for the 2nd photo. I haven't been able to try a shot like this..no traffic where I am. I think it's a great start but the photo itself could be more interesting. A different location maybe.

    Look forward to seeing more!

i would start by cropping the lefthand 1/3rd or 1/2 of the top photo off, for the same reason as kat, that the fuzzy foreground is too distracting. the rest of the photo is great - with good clarity & shadows. possibly a little contrast boost would improve it even more.
and again with the second shot - i would cut almost the entire bottom half off. its not doing anything for the photo - the green lights & red streaks are just great...
2 very interesting photos! you are well on your way!

Starting with the second. Definitly captured what you were practicing, no doubt about that. Time to continue practicing composition. Would definitly crop the bottom half and make a 'panoramic' out of if. Other than that it is a good exposure, just needed a little work on the composition. Try changing angles next time.

The first. I really like this shot. I am going to politely disagree with Kiley. I dont know that the image needs to be cropped at all. The only problem with it is the fact that I know it is Jenga. If I couldn't read the Jenga part of it, this would be excellent. Without that there really is not a size reference to give you an exact scale of the image. If you have photoshop, you could even clone out 'Jenga' on the individual pieces. Or, assuming you own the game, you could try it again, or try new ways of assembling it. You are definitely on to something here. Nice work.

Photography is more than just taking a picture and freezing the action, or leaving the shutter open. It is more than orchestrating the image with the stroke of a brush. Its the realization and explanation that reality is an isolated experience in which only a specific individual can comprehend during any given time period. - Your Truly!

#1. I like the idea, but the execution doesn't quite work IMO. As mentioned, the large out-of-focus area foreground left is very distracting. I'd like to see this reshot with a few slight adjustments. 1) Have all the blocks aligned so that either the logo is not visible (preferable) or if that's not possible so that they all face the same way. 2) A little wider at the front so that you can see more of what it's supposed to be; I guess what you were intending, but to be honest, more because I've seen them before, and 3) Set the blocks up so that the "tunnel" is either die-straight or has a gentle curve.

#2. Nicely done; I'd like to see a little less of the dark, empty area image right though. Is there a way that you could shoot this from the middle of the road, say a traffic island at an intersection?
