Takes a little effort to pull it off what with shooting with a mobil app on an iPad and a tripod with a below horizontal arm attached while composing upside down just a few inches off the ground so the Benro isn't in the shot. I see a few things I wish I had done differently, but the question is...worth the effort to begin with?

I don't know for sure how much effort was involved but it is a very captivating image... we often don't see the world from that vantage point. Excellent!

What draws my attention first is the roots. Then up the trunk, drawing in the foliage around it to the canopy. Maybe a little more contrast in those roots. But it's a nice start to experimenting, and there's no reason not to try your other ideas.

Fabulous capture...regardless of the effort, it was definitely worth it. I quite like the B&W processing.

That's sorta what I was thinking. Maybe throw a lil'bit of strobe at the base of the tree.
