Default tourist hunter or: a revenge on my reality

hey ho... first up front... i like your forum. i was brave enough to post something in bw so far, but here i have doubts if i am ready to go public.

so this are some frames of a documentary i try to do about tourism. it started that i come out of that industry and did change the location of my living... and it seems to be worse here in vienna than on the countryside i come from. but when i think of it, really much is connected to tourism in vienna and the city is taking many efforts to keep it that way or make it even more clean. so what is missing, are some pixs of punks, homeless, druggies and other stuff like that. so what you see here, call this the core-idea and maybe you want to tell me, if it makes sense to go on or... not.

the first question that did rise or where i lost track... its hard to find out sometimes who the 'tourist hunter' is... the company behind the scene, the women and men working at the first front... or those tourists? haa...

have a nice day... so long... damien richard

it is a nice set and captures the idea of tourists very nicely.
I like the first one too but I think my fav is the one with the couple under the umbrella.

well... some shots are missing somehow as... well, the project is growing.

here in vienna, some things you cannot forbid, like that homeless ppl are here. but there are other ways to keep them out of the nice, touristy, clean center... or druggies... or... punks... no graffieties...

so my project is getting kind of out of hand... somehow.

    bit more stuff:

So, you have this in the critiques section but you are not asking for a critique on individual images. Instead, you are asking for critique on your idea to do a documentary. I think you have a number of excellent street shots of tourists and a few tourist attractions but what is missing is the message. Do you enjoy having tourists in your city? Are you commenting specifically on how the seedier side of the city is hidden from the tourists? What is the underlying theme to your documentary. Right now, the images don't tell a story or at least I can't follow one from them. There is potential there but I think you need to clarify your message and then only display the images that speak to that message then the collection will inform the viewer rather than just entertain.
