    Default Downtown Rockford, IL

Hello all, I'm new to the forum. Thought I'd jump right in by throwing my photos in the ring for critique. These are fairly recent shots from a walk around downtown Rockford. Thoughts?

    Nice images.

    1. I'd like to see this with some of the LH side cropped and perhaps as a monochrome conversion. You've got a really interesting subject, but he gets lost among all the distracting background detail.

    2. Really nice; good lighting and composition.

    3. This one seems rather weak to me. Rather too much foreground I think. Perhaps a different position, say with the camera right on the ice, or nearly so, would have given the image a bit more 'oomph'.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

I like the second one the best, it has a nice comp. I especially like the reflections in the water.

I'm with all of this. Would really love to see the 1st photo in a black and white. I think he has great characteristics!

As for the 3rd shot..don't fall in the water!!!
