These are both very good shots taken in some challenging exposure conditions (dark horses & bright sunlight snow). I like the composition of the second one and the behaviour between the horses in that shot.
If there was one thing I would say could be improved would be is to somehow recover the details in the snow beneath the feet of the horse in the second shot.
You could try the following:
If you were shooting in raw format, try to process your raw file twice. Once for exposure of the horses and other dark regions (I think the way it is exposed right now looks pretty good for the dark regions). On the second processing of the raw file, I would try to recover just a bit of detail in the snow (without turning it too bluey-grey). If you have a tool like Photoshop or Corel you can overlay the two processed files and mask-in the detailed snow beneath the horses.
If you get a chance post the camera setting as wells so that we can see how the shot was exposed.
