Iceberg

This is a discussion on Iceberg within the Critiques forums, part of the Photography & Fine art photography category; I was wondering How I could enhance this image:...

One word: WOW! I simply love it!

As for improvements, only thing I can think of is maybe dodge the sky a little to make it brighter.

    This is an excellent image.

I wish the iceberg were closer and shot with a wide angle but this is very well done.

I would not dodge the sky, I'd dodge the main iceberg by maybe 5-10% to make it pop harder against the water and the sky.

    Hope that helps

    Beautiful!

I might try cropping a little of the top of the sky to effectively move the iceberg up so it hits the top third part of the image, but other than that, not much else to say...

    Top class shot.

The ONLY thing I'd consider doing to that image is cropping a bit of the sky out to place the horizon above the centre. Other than that, it's dang near perfect!

Thanks for all the comments - I've tried the cropping alternatives - but am not satisfied with it.

It was taken in Greenland near Illulisat in the Disko Bay. Yes i was on a small boat :-)
I posted a few other on flickr - and will probably kick my own ass to write how nice and impressive that trip was.

Very beautiful, I would leave it as is.
I love how the smaller ice pices draw your attention to the big iceberg.
Print an enlargement and see how it looks.
Please feel free to browse through my photography albums on my web site at www.aophoto.vze.com maybe you will like some of them.
