Blue Fence and Snow

I like this image; the contrast of the bright, blue fence, the snow, and the dull beige/brown/grey of downtown is really excellent. Good composition and use of leading lines, the only negative point is that there's really nothing for the eye to grab onto when it gets to the end of the fence.

I like it. The blue really pops. The leading lines towards the "vanishing point" really wants me to find something. I'm drawn to the building/tower/tree at the end.

i like it too - I'd burn in the edge of snow (and the snow itself) by at least 15%.

I agree with the previous comments too. Too bad a train didn't come through while you wre there. A bright red engine coming toward you would have been cool. Oddly enough I was on the other side of the Husky building shooting the tower cranes 2 weeks ago but turned around before I got to the fence.

while you sit in the +teens, i sit in 2 feet of snow...
how sad.

im as blue as your fence.

which, btw, is a good shot.
i like the worn-ness of the paint & the dried weeds in front of the tired fence, in contrast with the shiney modern glass buildings.
personally, i would try to sharpen & brighten the red tower in pp, to give the eye something to focus on after following the lines of the fence.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. I will try to brighten up the tower and burn the snow. I love that fence! It is so bright, yet weather beaten and shabby. A train would have been cool! Or maybe a couple of homeless sitting along the fence. Then it would serve as symbol of the have and have not. The shiny city contrasted with the pretty blue fence which on the reverse side reveals a shabbiness and shelters the downtrodden or something like that. Or maybe that's too cliche? Anyway, I will probably photograph it again. And again.

Here is my attempt. I think it is somewhat better.
