The first one works much better than the previous version with the skater in the distance.
The second one - you missed the shot, unfortunately...
I really like the top one a lot ...
The bottom one is a neat angle as well.
the 1st shot has great visual impact! i wouldve like to seen the top of the circle though, but thats pretty nitpicky.
the 2nd shot wouldve worked great had you caught the full board in the frame as well.
i like the first shot alot, the rider seems a little blurred,i personally dont shoot skaters at any thing less than 1/250 sec go back to that spotr and do the shot again and again, try different angles i think you will be really amazed at what you can acomplish! also i dont know what your set up is but i would say add a tripod and external flash to your bag, i just use an OLD nikon sb10 with 30ft of sync cable, looks real ghetto but gives really awesome results! Then you could take that shot and really peg hime with the falsh and have all the colours nice and bright, or have it behind and make him a nice shilloute. and let me tell you, riders love to skate when there is a flash beemin them ive had a number of people tell me it makes them feel pro lol
your definetly on the right track tho, keep at it!
as for shot 2 i will give you a peice of advice that i picked up shooting skate, no butt shots! (unless the trick is a backside 180) dont be afraid to sit on the coping to get the shot, just make sure you communicate with the rider before so he or she knows that you are going to be there, and you will get some really great pictures!
i am no pro myself thats just my 2cents!
keep clicking!
p.s any picture YOU really like dont be afraid to send them in to mags or companies, with your adress, they sometimes will send you some swag. along with creative input!
