This is a shot of my son throwing a daisy. I desaturated the picture and then boosted up the yellows and some of the other colors in his shirt. Does that help the picture of not?

The magic of photography is metaphysical. What you see in the photograph isn't what you saw at the time. The real skill of photography is organized visual lying. - Terence Donovan

I am not wild about the colour play here. it's a cute shot though so keep working with it. Or if you love it, then it's fine
It looks like a dandelion to me though.

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
I actually like the colours here.
For me it's the position of the boy - the 90 degree angle to camera and the fact that he's looking totally outside the frame (but not at anything or anyone in particular) is not working for me - I'm not feeling the sense of interaction in this shot. So for me, even though I quite like the colour work, it does not help the shot enough.

"You have to milk the cow quite a lot, and get plenty of milk to get a little cheese." Henri Cartier-Bresson from The Decisive Moment.
Marko said pretty much exactly what I was thinking. I too kind of like the colour play. I'll add that I would cut about of 1/5th of the image off the top to get rid of the street as it's distracting to me.
