This is a discussion on Castel Meleto in Chianti within the Critiques forums, part of the Photography & Fine art photography category; ...
nice detail and composition here. My only nits are that it looks slanted to the left, there's pink in the sky and there's a halo around the tree. The pink and halo are from the processing in HDR.

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
Nice subject. Think Bambi hit it well with the slant and HDR (pain in the butt) after glow. I find if you play with the buttons in processing that you may be able to lessen that halo effect. The sky has a bit of blow out but that is once again typical of HDR with a bright sky.
Love love the HDR effect on the brick, looks good. Colors are really nice as well! Very jealous at your subject!

I like the overall tones in the image, but the slant bothers me as well.
But my niggle on this one is the framing and the angle it was taken from; I don't feel it's doing the Castel justice.
You have leading lines here that are intriguing and our eye wants to follow them, but they lead to the tree and not the Castel.
Hope that makes sense - Marko

I don't think I can add to this, however, I just wanted to chime in and say I wish I had been where you had been... looks like a very interesting subject.
