    Does anyone use the Manfrotto / Bogen 438 leveler. If so what is your opinion of the head.

    I've not used it, but I'll assume that like my stable full of Manfrotto gear it's well made and will do exactly what's required with no fuss. I'm curious though, why?

    Because I want something lighter than my old manfrotto with the adjuster screws. The leveler levels the tripods center platform below the ball head without messing around with the legs. This way the ball head will spin level for pano shots.

    Understand the theory; I always found them more trouble then they're worth.

    For QVTR work they are a must have when using ball heads.
