after reading a thread that Ben H posted regarding Tethered shooting:
here
I decided to write an application that can allow the Nikon D50 (and other Nikons, and possibly other cameras that support PTP) to shoot in Tethered mode, which is where photos are transferred to the pc as they are taken. But as I was writing it I discovered that I can trigger the camera from the PC.
This led to the realisation today that I can add a timer and trigger the camera every minute, 10 mins, 1 hour etc. making it possible to do time lapse photography woot
I've not actually created a decent Time lapse vid yet, just proved the point of it triggering the camera every time it's supposed to and transferring over the jpeg to the machine (i'm shooting in RAW+JPG mode, cause currently my program can only transfer the Jpg over, not the RAW, you have to transfer the raw yourself)
anyways, thought someone else might be interested in it too.
here's a download for it:
Download
It requires the .net 3.5 runtime.
and remember, it's Pre alpha software lol, it doesn't look posh, and may have bugs. but there isn't much too it, so can't go too wrong.
also, you need to connect your camera in PTP mode and switch it on before running this program, because this program will list all devices currently connected when starting for you to select your camera.
