It seems like however few priorities I'd like to focus on, there's still never enough time to do everything I most would like to do. Well, nothing new about that. Meanwhile, here's my first finished non-camera-phone photo from my recent trip to Montreal. During the visit, which was most enjoyable, I was also able to meet up with fearless leader Marko...



This was taken on the lower level of the Château Ramezay museum. I love the spray of birdwing-shaped light radiating out on the wall from the lighting fixture's slits.

Other than camera phone shots, I shoot almost exclusively medium format digital with the Pentax 645 system. This was taken with the 645Z, handheld at ISO 25600. To even be typing an ISO value like that, let alone having print-worthy files shot with it, still seems surreal...

Crazy good tonal range and clean detail from such a high ISO - Love the shadow detail here.
This works for me on many levels and I really dig it. It's a well seen scene for sure and my eye is being successfully guided.
Comp, exposure and processing are fab. Nice choice on the sepia.
The only thing I might add if this were mine, would be to add a 10-20% burn to the lighter portions of the mid right edge. But now we are talking subtle personal flavours.
Aside from that - Framery time. Hope to see more.

Yeah, I went back & forth on that bright band on the right. Ended up where it is now, but still not sure. I like it in the frame (vs. cropping it out entirely) as a boundary, but it might be a little too hot as it is. The first print will tell; I never consider an image finished until I'm cool with a print of it. And maybe not even then...

Love the light play and I agree with everything Marco said, but for me it is the texture and the fine shadows are what stand out to me. I love it. I agree that the right edge forms a good natural border
