Default Barn wedding in eastern ontario | bride and groom with umbrella

As unfortunate as the rain can be at a wedding, you just have to find ways to make it work. We decided to photograph mainly under cover of the enormous barn where the wedding reception was being held; but we also took a short stroll into the rain itself.

If you want to see more photos from this wedding (and see how we dealt with and sometimes used the rain) see: Barn wedding near Ottawa. There's also a color version of this photo in there that might work even better.

See Christopher Steven B. Photography for recent wedding and engagement photos.

Thanks for sharing these. The link to your blog reveals many creative ideas and interesting photos. I like the poses with the groomsmen and the bride. Also the use of the umbrella is very cool, and obviously the bride and groom will remember the day fondly, in spite of the rain.

I like how you worked out your weather woes (colour shot works better for me though) - Nicely done!

Thanks, mbrager ! As I mentioned in the blog, I had a great relationship with the bridal party--especially the dudes. They were already primed to do some wacky playful stuff (including that oh so corny and cartoonish door shot !) and I just had to be there to encourage it !

Thanks, Marko--totally agree about color vs. B+W. It's funny--with the rain I not only had to deal with the photography but also the psychological aspect--MUST KEEP BRIDE UPBEAT !

Thanks, man. The American Gothic shot was--well, I suggested it but I was really borderline about whether it would fly with these people in this situation.
