    Default Boqueria market, Barcelona

Finally got round to PPing a complete set of these from a work trip at the end of May . I had previously only managed the odd one here and there, which some of you might have seen.

Boqueria market is a covered market, and a great place to visit if you ever have a couple hours spare in Barcelona. It's an excellent place for some people photography as there are thousands of tourists all with cameras. The market itself is apparently quite old and famous - there are some photography books dedicated to it which are worth a look.

    Can I help you?

Tall tales and iced fish (was on the way out by this point, cocked the focal point up a bit whoops)

    Fruity gossip

Suspicous minds (missed the focus here, grrrr)

Hip hop shop (when the stars align, and the photography gods smile, and your subject is wearing a contrasty shirt, suddenly you get an image that really pops. Oddly enough this was taken with a cheapo Tamron 70-300)

    Salt cod

Of course this being Spain there are several bars in the middle of the market in case you work up a thirst from all that shopping :P These were taken a day before the Champions League final, hence the Barca shirts. For all you Canadian types who don't know what real football is (I'm joking!!! I tried to insert a whole bunch of smilies here but the forum says I have too many images already oops) Barcelona are currently the best team in the world and beat Manchester United in the final the next day.

    Barca bar

Comments and criticisms are equally welcome!

This is an interesting set that shows off an interesting market - but my first thought was - why BW? ....did they not look good in colour, what motivated you to convert these?

I quite like these. And I like the b&w it allows me to focus on the people without getting distracted by a lot of colour
