Not to far from my home town, I like the strong back-lighting in this shot, it adds atmosphere and the shadows add interesting details. I like the repeating arcs in the arches. If I was to be picky, I'm not a fan of the over exposed area in the middle of the picture.

I like the composition of this picture. However the light area in the middle is too blown out and detail is beling lost in the dark areas. This looks like a prime candidate for HDR.

Looks like lots of interesting texture is lost in the very subdued dark areas. I know squat about HDR but that location would certainly be worth a visit when the lighting is more favourable and allows for some experimenting throughout the day.

Like the photo but I have to agree with ansnow about the blown out middle but overall the photo is still well done.

Thanks for your comments. As always they're gratefully received. There was really strong sunlight when the photo was taken so I'd say that's part of the reason why the middle part looks a bit overexposed. Any tips on how to underexpose it without losing details in the dark areas. I'm not the greatest fan of HDR but I take your point. Would be good for an experiment.

HDR is your friend.

All kidding aside, the shot is of an interesting subject and is very well composed. I'd say that if you can get a handle on the light (time of day,blending or HDR) you'll have yourself a fine image.
