    yeah, well. Sometimes.

Actually my husband indulged my love of old cemeteries today. He's used to it by now. This is the Old Hill Burying Ground in Concord, Mass. Established 1673, oldest grave is 1677. Some of the best stone carving I've ever seen is in this graveyard. Amazing work. Real artistry. Here are two of my favorite shots. And yeah, Bambi wants a color version already!

Concord, Lincoln and Lexington are the towns that had some of the earliest battles in the American War for Independence and it was a timely visit for sure.

Nice shots. These are some interesting looking old carvings. I wonder what the various symbols mean.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I was so happy no one cut the grass by those stones. It totally made the shot. I was standing on the sidewalk against a brick wall that holds back the hill the graveyard is on, so those stones are at about chest height.

Here's a color shot for you Bambi -

Love the tones and textures. I really like number 2, as you said the tall grass really helps make this picture. By the way really prefer it in B&W.

Very cool set! I love looking at old gravestones and wondering about the lives of the people there. These in a way remind me of illuminated manuscripts. I like that skull with wings in the last one but favour Photo #2.
