I defy anyone to get one on the move Once they're hovering it gets easier. The hard part is getting focus, exposure, and comp all in a line before they zip off. You can narrow the odds a bit by watching for a while then get a fair idea as their favourite "Hover spots" That prediction helps pre selecting exposure and focus. In this case I predicted where he would hover then found a blade of grass or something roughly the same distance for focus, got a pre focus so that when he stopped, the camera lens could see it and just tighten up if that makes any sense If you're not set to the right focal distance the 70-300 can pass right by the dragon and end up locked on a water bubble in the creek below
