This is an immediate post-WWII Naval fighter used by the British Commonwealth. This particular example is in Canadian markings. The original Bristol Centaurus engine has been replaced with a Curtis Wright R3350 engine. The visual clue is the Centaurus used a 5 bladed propeller with left hand rotation. The R3350 uses a 4 bladed propeller with right hand rotation. Spares and support for the R3350 are much easier to obtain on this side of the "Pond".
This is probably the logo of someone who is helping maintain the airplane. I don't know for sure, but it was a neat picture.
