    Default Grace Presbyterian At Night

Sadly, they did not have their lights on but I had my gear with me so took some shots anyway. You would be surprised at the amount of traffic on that corner, both foot and vehiclular at ten at night on a Saturday. Here I am standing on a corner using a timer and 30 second exposures with no one around, hit the release and all of a sudden everyone appears out of no where.

Well at those shutter speeds people do not record as long as they keep moving. The cars just leave annoying light lines.

Oh yes, that's the church I thought about a couple of weeks ago. Lovely work, really capturing the stone nicely. Love the light explosion from the street lamps in the time exposures. You're right, it's a busy corner.
I actually went there last week after work and took some photos around sunset, but completely forgot all about them until now. I remember getting quite chilled once the sun went down. I have some shots like yours from the opposite corner.
I went around the side and shot this. It's an HDR shot and then I used color dodge in PS. I like the stained glass windows.

Is it okay to post on your thread? Not sure of the etiquette for that.

Nice shots JAS. I like how the tower fades to black.

That's ok, Mike! At least you got some daylight in the stained glass. It's a huge church so a real challenge to photograph. I would have gone around to that side as well but a homeless person left a shopping cart and a bicycle on the sidewalk there.

Antz, they have spotlights on the building that gives that effect. You can exploit it a bit by pointing your camera up. Here is a B&W conversion that I did as well. The lighting can be very spooky.
