I am not an advocate for formal religion. I am not trying to offend, it's just what I believe. I do, however, love the artwork that goes into old churches, tombstones and religious icons. Here are some images that I captured from St. finabarr's cathedral in Cork Ireland.
the gold of the statue of the arc angel stands out clearly against the grey stone.
this stained glass window caught my attention. In reading I discovered that the artist used the candles to represent each member of his family.
always, always, always, look up when you go in a church.
I know that none of these have any artisitic merit. but I just wanted to capture (and share) the beauty that I saw. It was also, just after I got my camera. I will do better when I go back.
