Thanks Zenon and Kat.
Yes it is HDR. No Orton as I don't know how to do Orton and figured there was enough of that here at ph.ca without me adding to it I do use a Glamour Blur filter with a few of my own touches that sometimes results in a similar look to Orton I guess.
Uh oh ... think I might come unglued here.
Never watched a game and can't say that a bunch of testosterone freaks trying to bash each other in full safety gear and occasionally actually trying get a goal is my idea of tough or sport.
I prefer cycling & motor racing. Does it count I saw Nelson Vails race once? Nelson who you ask? Vails ... A Canadian Olympic cycling star from the mid to late 80's He was one of very few Negro cycling stars to come out of the Nth American continent. Great rider.
One of Australia's greatest ever race car drivers was a fella named Allan Moffat. He is a hero here. He is Canadian but defected here in the 60's because his completely controlled epilepsy prevented him from being accepted as a race driver over there.
I'm rambling now

okay I know we are totally but I can't seem to stop myself.
I used to think the same about hockey, then my kids got into it (appreciate the irony of a woman who wanted to buy her kids a pony but they wanted a hockey rink!). I changed my mind after. it's much less about the fighting and more about the goals these day. My preference is for woman's hockey, more skill and less brute strength.
I see the bike racing, don't get car racing at all. of course my favorite are horse sports, particularly dressage.
