I like the middle one the best! There's just something about it that holds my eye.

Me too...it''s like it's an old wrought iron fence dated 1929 instead of the address being 1929...then again maybe it's the other way around?
Whatever it is, it's neat nonethless! really like the rust and the wear on it!

Thanks for the comments, girls! I am pretty sure it is the date, Casil. The lawns look so empty covered in snow. And it is somehow ironic to be looking through the gate at beautiful untouched snow rather than the perfectly manicured green lawns of summer. It is a sport that dates back to the early part of the last century for sure.

Lol, I put the gate latch in for jj's benefit knowing his penchant for old rusty things. I actually like the first shot the best but then I like to photograph eccentric colorful things.

Ironically, it sounds like they keeps the snow perfectly manicured in winter as well as the lawns in summer!
I have friends from South Africa that play....they call it "bowls".
Speaking of your penchant for eccentric shots...I was thinking about your "Ahhhhhhh" photo today and how neat that shot is, especially since it's not there anymore. :( Funny every time I'm in that area that shot pops into my head!
