Festival des Lumières de Québec - Quebec City Light Festival

Last Weekend I drove 3 hours to Quebec city where it was 10 degrees colder than Montreal and approached -25 C with the windchill factor.
But they were having a festival full of light that I needed to photograph. I spent 4 hours in the serious cold and a good 45 minutes of that on my belly waiting for my shot. God bless thermal underwear and hand and toe warmers.

The staircase (L’Escalier de cristal - Crystal staircase) at Place D'Youville was simply awesome and I spent most of my time photographing this one scene.

Great set once again Marko. It was worth the discomfort to get these shots. Hard to pick a favourite as I really like them all, but would probably go with # 2 due the position and orientation of the people relative to the colours.

Perhaps a suitable podcast topic would be "Suffering for the sake of art (photography)-How much suffering is enough?". I find the first photo of the second set (path of light) a fantastic photo, full of intrigue and beauty. Having the shadow people in the shot just makes it for me.

I agree, the first photo of the second set is just awesome. Very impressionistic (is that a word?) and painterly. Very atmospheric.

....and yet again, the first of the second set for me as well. Just keeps drawing me back to it. Almost an etherial look to it. Well done on all Marko, but this one is just "IT" for me.
