    Default Cambridge Bay Nunavut

    Hi folks!

I'm posting this from inside the arctic circle. You got to love technology! Anyways, I had a chance to do a little walk about town today with my old manual focus 50mm lens. Here are a few of the photos.

Woof by Dan Newcomb Photography, on Flickr
This cute little brat of a dog kept jumping all over me while I was trying to get a shot of his buddy. I noticed the road curves so I decided to toss a rock down it to see if it would chase it. It did so I got the shot I wanted while it came back to terrorize me (in a good way).

Ship by Dan Newcomb Photography, on Flickr
This ship is about to freeze in place for the winter. It has been a part of an effort to find the ships from the Franklin Expedition that left England in 1845 and were lost in 1846. I spoke to the two crew members. Nice guys from Newfoundland.

Bad Combo by Dan Newcomb Photography, on Flickr
I couldn't resist taking this photo as it seemed like a bad combo.

Thanks for looking and as usual, feel free to fire away with comments or questions.

Did he mooch, too? Looks like a little sweetheart. I also like the shack.

Great images. My favourite is the boat shot, the muted colours, composition. The third shot, flame master gas furnace trailer in the high artic I find quite hilarious. By the way there is a law in Canada that every Canadian vessel must include at least one Newfoundlander.

Very nice on all Dan. Really like the ship, and the shack/sled shots.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

Thanks! The puppy was chewing on my hand every second he could so I guess you could call that mooching. My coworker mentioned that he heard on the radio that they had some rabies going around and be careful not to get bit by any dogs. Of course he told me that after the puppy was chowing down on my hand. No foaming mouth yet so I think I'm in the clear. Jim I do believe that is the law
