    Default Cloud Bank

Here’s a shot of the Wachovia Bank in downtown Columbia, SC. Any time I’m not doing something else and the sky is filled with those slow moving cloud banks I’ll hop in my truck and head downtown to get a few shots of their reflections in the glass. The building remains the same, but images of it will change from hour to hour and day to day.

So you build up a 'library' of shots of the same building with different skies and reflections? Cool idea. I've wanted to do this with a landscape scene for ages now but have never actually actioned this thought.
Do you always use the same focal length and shoot from the same spot?

I like this photo, it has interesting geometrical shapes and simple colors. Personally, I like urban photography of this type.

Thanks, guys. I’ve been chasing the clouds here for just under a year. The weather and available time coincide maybe once or twice a month. Only one face of the building lends itself to getting clouds in the reflection as the other three sides show only the surrounding buildings and as a result, they always the same ‘ol same ‘ol.

I always shoot it at 18mm and usually at f/8 with -1 or -2 exposure compensation dialed in depending on the brightness of the sky. The one you’re looking at was shot yesterday.
