    Default My First Camera

Well it's the first I can ever remember having anyhow. My sister turned up with it at Christmas. It had been bouncing around in her stuff for the past hundred years or so! It's an old 110. So I decided to lightbox it today.

I wish I'd kept my old Fujica and Canon T50 and T70 SLR's now. :(

Nice lightbox!! Where did you get it? Maybe I can make you feel better. I will throw my first one in the lightbox tonight. Should be up in an hour or so...

I made the lightbox a few weeks ago but hadn't had time to play with it yet. When I did, I realised I built it too big and it needed too much light to fill it. A quick rebuild one evening last week and it's still big-ish but works much better. Waiting on two more lights to come for it though.

Absolutely throw your first camera into here as well dude

This was my first camera. It was actually my Grandpa's camera. When he passed away, it was given to me. I used it on my trip to Alaska, which is how I got started into photography. The lens on it here is a 2.8 135mm prime with JCPenney's name on it. Not sure who actually built it but it is pretty nice. I would really like to get a new mount put on it if possible. I also have a 1.8 50mm prime and a 2x converter for it.

    Cool! Very cool.

I'm waiting for my father to get back from a holiday in NZ because when he found out I had my old 110 back he offered to give me his old camera. He reckons it's an old 35mm job from way back. I'm not even sure what it is yet!

Yeah I really love this thing. I had a Pentax Asahi K1000 with a 50mm prime that I let a 'friend' borrow for a class. I never got that thing back. My great uncle has a few other old SLR's that I will be inhereting. One is another Asahi K1000. Another is a Canon with a 50mm prime on it as well. Good things to have and those prime lenses from back in the day cannot be beat. Just wish the ones I had fit on my camera's today. I could always by a converter for them. MA, it sounds like the anticipation for your surprise is pretty exciting. Always good to hear when someone is surprised about things like this.

My first one is an Argus C3. I still have it, doesn't work. It was my grandfather's.

Ahh! The trusty 'ol "Brick". I've got a couple C-3s, and they still work. They leak a little light, but they'll take a picture.

My first was a K-1000 and I still have it. Of all the old film cameras I have, I think the favorite would be my Canonet QL-17 Glll with a 40mm 1.7 lens. It's of the old range finder type and loaded with B&W, it takes beautiful images.
