Went Back to Shoot at Night

This is a discussion on Went Back to Shoot at Night within the Architecture & Man Made (cities, buildings, roads, objects & abstracts) forums, part of the Show your photo (Color) - Landscape & Nature (flowers, mountains, storms etc.) category; I thought nighttime would be more interesting than http://www.photography.ca/Forums/bla...ning-hour.html and had a chance to try this weekend. 1. 2....

So glad you went back. The first shot is a winner and deserves the nomination.. Both are nice and sharp too.

very cool. Really like shot 1 -
Those blue triangular design formations on the right and left, is that artwork done by the city?

Big fan of number 1 as well... I love the colour and the lines. Very nice.

Excellent shots! The blue lights really set it off. I too like #1. Makes me want to try some night shots as soon as I can fine a location.

Also like #1. I love that time after sunset when the sky is deep blue and the city lights also present!

Thanks for the comments and the nomination AT. Yes, blue hour is a very pretty time in clear weather. This is a newly developed part of the city, known as East Village, with a relatively new underpass of the train tracks. The city budget process forces the use of a certain percentage of the cost to be used for art. In this project the art was the lighting strips along the walls. There is also lighting under the railings in the plaza. Makes for interesting and unique shadow and light for sure.
