Default The results of my sudden opportunity

The museum's latest acquisition: a Mig 21. It'll keep the Mig 17 company. The truck was already there when I arrived. Sue and John showed up not too much later.

Moving over to the road to get in position.

I skipped lots of shots getting the straps on and cut to hanging on for dear life to keep the plane from swinging in an unfortunate direction.

Once it's over, keep hauling it away from the fence.

John moved it so it could be washed before the news crews got there. The sun was well up. I didn't have much time before I simply had to leave for work. Maybe an ND or polarizer would have helped this, but I was rushing for the last few shots at this point.

The plane was acquired from Merle Mains' collection. He's based in Ontario, Oregon. I can get details of its service and how it ended up in Oregon, if anyone is interested.

Cool set for sure, and glad you got the shots you wanted so well.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!

Must have been very nice to see it and be able to capture that set, well done photo set.

Thank you, all. I hope to get a little further along with the rest of them in the near future. Right now I'm at the tail end of the photos I took at the last air show (about a month ago). JC put a quicky shot he took on the FB (referring to it as the Russian lawn dart), but sent an email asking what I had. Mike told him I'd sent these to the page, so I imagine he'll move them onto the main time line later today.

Excellent results.... I like numbers 3 and 4 with the plane in the sling. Very cool.

Thanks, Iggy. I finally finished up the photos from that day last night. At some point I'll go through them, and through the airshow pictures and maybe post a few more.
