One of many short alleys in old part of town.
I like the gritty texture of the first.

A painter takes their vision and makes it a reality. A photographer takes reality and makes it their vision.
first one reminds of the work of Dado Moriyama
" A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it. " Irving Penn
" There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs." - Ansel Adams
I really like the grittiness of the first one. It really adds to the mood.
There used to be a film that I shot that produced effects similar to shot one.
I like the gritty texture as well!

"You have to milk the cow quite a lot, and get plenty of milk to get a little cheese." Henri Cartier-Bresson from The Decisive Moment.
I, too, am a fan of the gritty one.
I love the first; however, I have to say the alley doesn't look that scary to me. For an alley (at least some that I've seen) it's rather wide and rather brightly lit; with pretty nice sconces to boot.
Thanks to all.
First shot is a real winner for me. Beautifully composed and I also love the grainy look.
Thank you !
