    Default Winter Hike

Calgary has an extensive system of indoor bridges and walkways through the downtown area called Plus 15. The City of Calgary - Calgary's +15 Skywalk
The other day it was extremely cold, an opportunity to park far away, take a hike, do an errand, and shoot some photos.
Many of the shots of the outdoors were shot through glass. I did have to go outside twice (going and returning) because there's a disconnect in the system until The Bow tower is completed. Some of what I saw:

    1. A view into downtown from a Plus 15 bridge shows the old and the new downtown buildings, and an idea of how cold it is. Not one person in this shot that I could see.

    2. The Walkways are 15 feet above the street.

    3. Crossing Fifth Street

    4. Inside, the walkways are full of interesting sights and designs.

    5. Food Courts

    6. Small restaurants, bars and coffee houses

    Default Plus 15 Hike continued

    7. The walkways and bridges are full of art.

    8. Visually the bridges are very intriguing, with lots of lights, skylights, reflective areas. The piece on the left here is a map. I should have moved the garbage can.

    9. Colorful Bridge leading to the Performing Arts Centre from City Hall

    10. There are always people who have to go outside.

    11. I couldn't resist stopping in for lunch.

What a fun tour of inner city Calgary! Thanks for taking the time to do that :-) The photos are all of wonderful quality. The detail is nice too! My two faves are the lady that appears to be smoking in the bitter cold, with frozen footsteps on the grates behind her - she has on no hat or gloves -- the cig must be keeping her warm enough? ... And the top one of the old with the new. Nice job on all of them! :-)

Nice tour through the indoor walkways. Like them all, but my favourites are the first one (love how deserted it looks in the middle of the day) and 6 Coloured Bridge (love all those coloured lines in the walls and the floor)
