Another very interesting shot, JAS. Love the post in the foreground, hits you in the eye and anchors the shot so well!

Nice shot. I really like how the city seems to be growing out of the grass.
Thanks Iggy and Matt. This is actually probably my favourite photo so far from that vantage point. One that I thought out and planned. The fence post was a bonus though.
It is one shot taken on a tripod with remote cord. To me it is not so much about the city growing out of the prairie, which it is of course but a view from that prairie or perhaps a view of the past across the prairie to the city. Of course it is not really taken from open prairie at all but from a high vantage point with some green space in the actual city. But even in that realization is the notion that our cities are perhaps just fleeting invasions of humans on the continuum of time and against the forces of nature.
And thanks to the city of Calgary for not cutting that grass! Ha! Ha!
Looks to me like a little peaceful oasis tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
No matter what rendition of it we have, it is a very nice capture, done very well JAS.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
Thanks, HBGirl. It's a great vantage point partly because of the Centre Street bridge which leads you into the photo.
very nice composition, well done
