woah, my brain hurts!
seriously though, it's interesting to see Cuba. We Americans aren't allowed to go there so it slips out of our consciousness as a place to visit. We only really see it when Castro et al do something obnoxious or when someone washes up on our shores, trying to escape the obnoxiousness.
Just remember you never hear any of the good things from Cuba in the USA like their literacy rate, health care, education, how much they do for other third world nations. Never met friendlier people or felt safer with all my camera gear. People may not have excess but they all have what they need. Now that Cuba is embracing the tourism industry I think you will see many great things happen there, already the restoration of Old Havana has becoming self funding.
What a cool 'hotel' Greg!
Just to comment to your comment, I've been lucky enough to have traveled a bit and people just LOVE Canadians. I found most Cubans very Friendly on a quick stay 2 years ago. I had a few heart to hearts with some residents while I was there. All of them were very proud of their healthcare system, education and literacy rate (which kicks BOTH Canada and the USAs butt all the way to China) and their very lively musical culture. On the con side.....salaries are under government control and VERY VERY VERY low....even for the average doctor. This means that most Cubans won't ever see another country.

"You have to milk the cow quite a lot, and get plenty of milk to get a little cheese." Henri Cartier-Bresson from The Decisive Moment.
A fantastic wide angle shot. Very detailed, very sharp. Cuba is full of old fashioned antiques, like the cash register on the left side, that still work. Thanks for sharing your photos.

Very cool shot, Greg! Love the reflection. What a lovely old place!
Marco yes I agree that this is the failing of their system, but the foreign capitalist exploitation system it replaced was worse for the majority. Our system has it's failings as well, too often the strongest swimmer is rewarded with old money and after conception they contribute nothing to the world. I degrees thanks everyone for the comments on the image.
