    Default GC- On the Water

Although the weather was crap during our stay down the Gold Coast, I still got out on 2 of the days (the other was just too wet and windy) to get some shots in, although many of these were taken from either the 77th floor Skypoint observation deck or from our 19th floor room.

Despite the blustery conditions and constant rain squalls, people were still out there enjoying the waterways and beaches ...

Ha! Ha! Love the Superduck! Went on one of those in Alaska and it was a hoot! The Paradise Jet is also very cool! Great set overall, M.A!

Yeh, nothing stunning photography wise in there but it gives you a look at life in the water around the Gold Coast. And these were dreary days ... imagine warm, sunny, summer days with a light breeze!

Oh I thought everyone knew what they were.

Basically they are pieces of fabric attached to a post that flaps around in the wind to get the attention of people for one purpose or another. They are used all over the world.

Wonderful set which really gives us a peak at the Gold Coast. Can't pick a fav as I like a lot of them.

Imagine that, Bambi not knowing what a flag is. Colour me surprised.

I suppose I should tell you what the flags really mean huh??

Ok on Aussie beaches, where the lifesavers are, they put up flags to show where it's safe to swim. Two Red/yellow flags are there to get you to swim between the flags ... well ... in the water denoted by the positions of the flags. It's hard to swim in sand of course!
The blue flag is sitting on a signpost that tells surfers not to surf between the flags for obvious reasons.

A flag with a shark symbol on it is to show Canadians that dolphins are out there and they should swim out to greet them.
