I'm in need of a spiral staircase shot too.

One thing that sits awkwardly for me in this shot, is that in my head I expect the lights to get closer together as they move further away from the camera, but for the light at the top the spacing seems irregular. (not your fault as that must be how it was, it just looks strange to me.)

Love these spiral shots though, must get out and try and get my own one of these days.

Yes total symmetry would be great but this old staircase just didn't have it. I had a better aligned shot but people were looking over the edge and ruined it.
