Mama wasn't interested in letting me get anywhere near that close. The only reason she came as close as she did was because I was in the shade and didn't move, and she wasn't quite sure what I was.

So what do they feel like?

You've really never held a duckling?

Holding a duckling is like holding a wish, a dream, but it's alive and real. There's almost no weight, just a feeling so soft and gentle it's like your first kiss or the caress of a summer breeze on your face.
It's like having tenderness itself resting in your palm.

It's a simple thing but I highly recommend it if the opportunity ever arises.

    Really cute shots QuietOne!

That was beautiful and you can ALSO use it to sell toilet paper.

Well in spite of MA having a total hormone meltdown I was wondering...Is it safe to hold a duckling? I've read some species will reject an offspring if it has a contaminate smell ie human

I just love tickling MA with the old feather when he's lying on his back with all paws in the air

The pictures of the ducklings are super. I really liked the first one where there's a symmetry to the group, kind of in pairs. The ensuing discussion...priceless. I'm still laughing.
