    Default Chihuahua with a D80

Heres my dog Roxie, who seems to always have her tounge out when getting her picture taken. Maybe it's a nervous thing. This was taken mostly with auto settings, with manual focus. It is going to take me a very long time to figure this camera out, but I love it already!

I like the sky in her eyes...

    Nice and sharp...

Start with P mode.... this allows you to adjust exp comp.. flash pop up... iso settings... d-lighting... etc..

then go from there... use aperture priority when you can afford to miss shots and toy with depth of field...

use shutter priority when you can afford to miss shot to freeze action...

and when you have lots of room for error... use M to tie everything together..

but for the shots like the one in the mirror with your daughter.... you should use autofocus and P mode so opportunities aren't missed...

thanks travis - good advice, nice and simple!
the eyes are what i like most about this shot too. if you notice the dark square in the reflection on the sky in her eyes, that me and the camera. lol - you can see it better when zoomed in.

    Very nice dog shot!

Eyes are sharp and the iris has colour. I like the pink tongue and the somewhat blurred background.
The position of the dog's head is a wee bit weird, but it's HARD to shoot pets and we take what we can get
