    Default bufflehead - low level, high-speed pass...

    caught this little bufflehead scooting across the bay at the park this afternoon... even managed to get some of the iridescence on his li'l head as he zoomed by... 40D, 100-400 @ 400mm, 1/3200 @ f/5.6...

    nice shots, #1 appeals the most (shows the most feather detail with the wing in the downstroke) to me

    What they said! Seriously, I also like the wing detail in number 1 and I've recently tried my hand shootin' ducks so I know it's hard to get a bead on these fellows. Nice capture.

    Both good shots, I'm liking #1 best as the water reflections are stronger and help fill in (for me) the distraction of the lack of them in shot #2. Not much you could have done about it I really like the first one
