    Default a little thief

i was out on my deck last summer and heard a rustling in my cherry tree, and what should appear among the branches but this little raccoon! i went inside and got my camera, and when i went back out, it was still there, happily feasting on my cherries... didn't seem the least bit worried as i came closer, and i got these shots from about 30-35 feet away... 40D, 100-4000 @ various focal lengths, exposures between 1/125 and 1/200 @ f/5.6...

they are very bold here as well. I once had to grab a broom to get it away from my birdfeeder. while my dogs were going nuts and he just looked at me like 'go ahead, make my day'

You'd sure make a mint if you could make one. But that's one huge ass focal length to deal with ... imagine the falloffs over that length!! I wonder what it would weigh? Maybe as much as a light pickup truck perhaps
