    Default some winter swans

    a gaggle of swans - a mix of tundra and trumpeters - took up residence at the lake near my house last December. they're pretty rare around here, this was the first time i'd seen them in this part of the country. very stately, graceful birds - except when trying to get airborne! 40D, 400mm, various settings...
