It's funny though now that you mention it, that the big colors seem to go on the males in the bird kingdom. When you think about it, even humans tend to sway toward the male birds when judging their beauty. Well...Now I'll have a leg up when I reincarnate as a naturalist

It's quite common throughout nature that the males are more attractive or in some impressive. The reason being that they need to be to compete to attract the females attentions and get laid!
