You spent an hour and a half getting ants to standing uniformly around a dollop of something sweet?

Weird ... but it's a cool shot.

Well…not entirely. Some of that time was set-up and I was doing other things as well while the tupelo honey drew a crowd. I really need another macro for wildlife and insects. In manual focus mode, each time I knelt to make an adjustment, the ants would scatter and then another 5 or 10 minutes later I would try again.

It ain't easy to get 45 ants to say "cheese" with a D90 and a 60mm lens hovering less than 6 inches above them. I haven’t given up, though. I will nail it on the next attempt.
