Restoring ones self esteem.
This little guy mistakenly wandered into the wrong brood and the mother gave him a really hard time. She got him in her beak and smashed him around pretty bad, I thought for a moment she was really going to kill him. Here, he is on the bank after the ordeal getting himself back together.
Later his siblings joined him on the bank
"I was rootin for ya frank! I was gonna give her the old left hook!"
