Great shot. I have a couple families of these living in my backyard and they are impossible to shot because they are so easily spooked. I cannot grab one because the longest lens I have is a 200mm.

Great shot! And I love Cardinals but don't see any where we live.
Ok then - contrast imo is the only thing that I'd play with if this were mine. The cardinal would sing even louder with just a bit of levels play.

I just stepped outside a few minutes ago. The two families of cardinals are out there right now, mocking me, daring me to try and grab a shot. "I put curses on both of their houses!" (thats right, I semi-quoted Shakespeare, we need a little culture on this site).

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
