The waterfowl migration has been very slow starting this year, and in fact I started out the morning at -19c. I suspected that I may get shut out due to the ice and the fairly calm winds however I got lucky and there was a little pocket of open water in front of one of my favorite spots. I had divers funneling into this hole all day. While I would usually use the Canon 7D for this kind of thing, I opted for the 6D as the cropper was going to be too tight with the 400 F/5.6L. The 6D did a great job (for a body that isn't suppose to do well with BIF).
Here are a few of my favs from the shoot.
