    Default Spring Rainbows

I headed back to the Ganaraska Fish Ladder in Port Hope, Ontario. I usually shoot this kind of thing with the 7D and my 70-200. Today, I decided to bring my 5D and 400mm F5.6 as a back up. After about an hour of shooting with the 7D, I decided to switch it up with the 5D. I am so happy I did. This old system (5D c.2005 and the 400mm c.1993) kicked the newer systems butt today.

Here are several images all taken with the 5D.

Mike I really like you picture here. I have been there several times it is a great location for pictures. Never gotten shots from that angle you must of been across the river.
Great light and nice freezing of the water and fish as they jump.

Yes I was across the river, the opposite side of the ladder. There is far more action on the fish ladder side and if you go to that side its best in the later afternoon light. As well, by the late afternoon the water temp starts to rise which gets the fish more active. However, taking pics from the east side allows you to get a much better perspective on the fish, but you will have fewer opportunities.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.
