    Default Huge Owl

A few of the local Great Grey Owl that has set up residence at the marsh. These owls reach the same size as a mature male Bald Eagle.
Not the greatest pics, but the lighting was terrible, as it was early morning with slight overcast, and shooting directly at the overcast sun.

The "whatta ya want?!?" is clear enough in the first one. Good shots for the light, he looks massive.

Thanks all for the kind words. Very appreciated.

...and Kev, there are now three individuals hanging out in the same area, confirmed by a local birder as of yesterday. Met a guy yesterday that drove up from Windsor for these.!!!!!!

Cool set. Like Marko I really like the comp of the first one. Just enough bokeh to make the owl really stand out, but still enough detail to show its location and surroundings. I too don't think I have ever seen an owl in fight. That second shot is amazing.

Like the first one a lot, and like the poses on the other two. I have actually seen an owl fly before I scared him, and he startled me too. The owl looked sort of like a flying log, weird birds to see in flight.
