Wow! Ok, I hope you were like super calm. Something tells me (and I don't know for sure) that when they stand up like that to look at you the next move might be a charge. The fact that you posted the image tells me that you were either faster than the bear or faster than your friend.

Very nice catch Kenny, of this curious fella!
Usually quite safe when they stand, as they are just trying to assess something, as in seeing it from a better vantage point. Round these parts see them do this before crossing roads all he time. They are actually VERY smart as in looking both ways before crossing also. Quite comical to watch.
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
