I agree - very cute. I just wish the head was a bit more in focus. The golden-yellow colour of its scales look great against the blue-grey bucket.

Cool AntZ ... same as we had ... but in a mini version. Green Tree Snakes are quite harmless and don't even have fangs, just some small teeth.

After seeing more than a couple NG type programs about snakes in Australia I'm afraid it would be 'shoot first and ask questions later'. I don't mind our own snakes and spiders but none here have the potential to put you in the ground. I don't know how people living in your suburbia manage.

Thanks all. This was shot on my Canon s100 from about 10cm away on pretty much a macro setting. Whilst I was pretty sure it was a non venomous snake, I still didn't really want to get bit. Plus I didn't want him to get back in the house because my wife IS venomous

As I mentioned in one of my threads on snakes ... to see them in the house is a rarity in the suburbs. I live in an estate that backs onto a golf course, by a river, with lots of bushland around. AntZ lives on the side of a small mountain again with a lot of bush around. We are more the exception than the rule for most Australians who live deep in the cities surrounded by cement and tarmac and will go years without seeing a snake even if they do go bushwalking from time to time.

Love snakes, and love the dof in first shot. Cute little bugger eh?
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
