    I have loads of shots of these and we get them near home as well.

    But you don't usually get to shoot directly from below.

    Almost all my bird shots are using flash. I consider it a definite necessity.

    Is it to "freeze" them so you can get the sharpest image or lack of light and not wanting to bump up the ISO and nasty digital noise?

    Pretty much all of the above, but also I find many birds colours show so much better when hit with flash.

    Sweet! I'm in desperate need to go south but to expensive for four of us..hmm..need to find a grandparent..lol. Look forward to seeing the posts MA! Nice to get back and enjoy the forum again!

    Love the detail of the feathers/patterning into the tail from body MA. Beautiful creature.

    Reality is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there!
